In Our Own Words
What if

Children and teenagers in the foster and adoptive system share a lifetime marked by loss of control. They came in to the world having no choice over the abuse and neglect they received from their family of origin, they had no say in being removed from those families, and often times their destinies ahead are wrought by uncertainties. The In Our Own Words project came about as a way to restore some sense of control by letting children participate in the process that leads to their forever family by allowing them to view prospective parents who are interested in adopting. The end outcome is that better choices and thus better families are created for the children and teens.
